Screening July 21st ONLY E14 (19 minutes) A study in human behaviour in the densest and overdeveloped residential area in the UK during the coronavirus pandemic, as a filmmaker captures the events outside his window through the first two weeks of the lockdown and discovers the phenomenon of empty apartments. LEARNING TAGALOG WITH KAYLA (4 minutes) In this Tagalog lesson, Kayla will teach you conversational phrases, common expressions, and what it’s like to feel sad and trapped inside your own home. In English, Tagalog, with English subtitles. PICK UP (15 minutes) Nina picks up her friend (and ex) from the airport during Covid. The ride begins masked & polite, but ends unmasked & vulnerable, as they wrestle with the complicated nature of their relationship within the confines of the pandemic. HAVE A GOOD SUMMER (9 minutes) H.A.G.S. is a documentary short that combines imagery from my middle school yearbook with phone calls from some of my oldest childhood friends to weave together a portrait of adolescence and growing up. HOW TO FALL IN LOVE IN A PANDEMIC (11 minutes) Two filmmakers match on Tinder in Chicago. Two weeks later they are forced to move in together in Ireland as the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps the globe and halts air travel. Using only smartphones, they document their unique romance and try to make sense of the situation. LIFE, UNEXPECTED (34 minutes) Shot over 10 years in intimate, raw home footage by an Oscar-winning filmmaking couple, LIFE UNEXPECTED tells the story of bringing life into this world. Through a stillbirth, countless miscarriages, IVF, and beyond, this documentary offers an intimate look at the unforgiving and often unspoken roller coaster of infertility.
